# Mission Statement
Bluetail is a decentralized record company that uses max level web3 tech to pay its signed artists better than Spotify, offer fairer contracts than Universal Music, get music licensed everywhere from the Otherside to your local 7-11, and give its execs access to party with the A-list music crowd…
all while shining light on deserving talent in the underserved international music scene. Bluetail will kickstart 100,000 new music careers and bring incredible, weird, brilliant, awe-inspiring new music to the world from the world’s hidden corners. And we’ll all have the time of our lives making it happen!
The bluetail guenon is the only ape in existence that lives in UNDERGROUND burrows.
Bluetail Records takes its inspiration from this incredible maverick — the one ape unafraid of the UNDERGROUND.
Often overlooked but never deterred, the UNDERGROUND now has direct access to a global audience through web3 technology. Bluetail's mission: To employ web3 technology to the disruption of the inequitable portions of the legacy record business — bringing the UNDERGROUND to the masses, filling the world with musical diversity, injecting real financial value back into media and launching 100,000 new musical careers.
### All Rewards to Artists
A fully functional Bluetail requires 0 people for daily operations and [0 new funding after initial costs](/bluetail/tokenomics/core-tokenomics.md). In 2 years or less, we expect Bluetail to serve the DAO as a link to the music industry and all of the festivals and fun therein!
And once we get rid of all the fluff, all that's left is a platform that gives transparent loans to creators for IP and does fair splits for anything it sells. No more fooling or forcing rights holders out of their IP or publishing with opaque contracts and strong arm Mafia tactics!
